Al is an absolute asset to the community. I am a DIYer and found myself confused on an install I was working on. "I needed an electrician to replace a recessed light in my bathroom. I like to use a local business and when I saw that Campbell Electric Service was near me, and all the great reviews, I called them. Al answered and said he could come over that day. I was astounded. Getting this quick response was, for me, as rare as a doctor making a home visit. Al was on time and ready to work. He diagnosed my problem very quickly (it was the switch) and set to work. He told me the recessed light fixture didn't need replaced. Al observed the COVID guidelines by wearing a mask. Very pleased with Al's work and he left the old switch so I know it was replaced. "When we bought our house, it came with a duel-fuel range. Recently, the oven broke and it was expensive enough to repair that it made sense to just buy a new range. Fast-forward four weeks and we got our new induction range today. As soon as it was plugged in there was a spark and the breaker tripped. The installers said the unit was not likely to blame and that we should call an electrician.
I called Campbell Electric Service, and the gentleman on the phone asked some questions to make sure he understood our problem. He explained that it sounded like a faulty unit, as a way of helping me save money. I asked for someone to come out anyway because 1) I would need proof it wasn't my system; and 2) we've found other weird stuff in this house, so if the wiring was bad I wouldn't have been too surprised.
They had someone in my area and at my door within 30 minutes. After examining stuff, it turns out that the outlet HAD been wired incorrectly! I guess the flippers had then just wired the old range to match?
Anyway, I was impressed by how they tried to save me some money; how they were able to get me help quickly; and how they friendly and explained what they were doing and finding as they went."

"I called wade the afternoon before my service day and Wade was there the next morning. He was prompt and professional. I needed a new thermostat line ran as I was told by a heating professional. I explained what was going on with my tenants thermostat, she was unable to control her heat as there was a break in the wiring any where from the 2nd floor to the basement. Wade surveyed the each floor to find where the issue was and to see if a new wire needed to be ran and/or if the break in the line was in the wall or not).
Long story short Wade saved me $100 as he found out no new wiring was needed he would just repair the existing wiring as it was not broken in the wall, he also properly secure the wiring to avoid any future issues. My tenant was able to control their heat that same day with no issues. Thanks Wade for you electrical expertise and customer service! "Yelp'ers, Here we go. I reviewed all possible Electrician candidates & decided from the 5 star reviews to hire Campbell Electric Service. Well first off Mr. Wade gives a very prompt appointment & came over the next day right away & very early 8:00 AM. Excellent I like early risers. Up front the service " FEE " including work is $125 an hour when the appointment is made. Mr. Wade was a very nice middle aged gentleman, who was very knowledgeable in his skilled profession. I had 2 very old bells replaced with new Victorian designs.
Also an old lighting unit with a pull chain. The lighting unit was prewar as Mr. Wade stated. He taught me a 2 valuable lessons. This family home is over 100 years old. Years ago this home ran on gas. Up in the lighting unit is a structure which was connected to this gas unit, which was converted but parts were left. I had previously purchased a chandelier one year ago and never had it installed. Mr. Wade could not install the new unit. He suggested a plumber inspect and remove the above ceiling gas unit, before he could install any new system. Also to never buy online lighting without knowing what is in the ceiling unit. This is only for very old homes. So the prewar unit was replaced with an updated similar model with the florescence large round bulb.
Mr. Wade had to leave and go to the warehouse and purchase this item for $25 and the bulb. I really tried to update an older system and it did not work out. In the long run it will be very costly. The chandelier is medium but very beautiful. Extremely too late for a return and refund. I waited too long in finding a very good electrician. Overall the conversation and service was great. My price was $275 and I gave a $15 tip. Oh well you live and learn. Thank you so much Yelp, I now have an electrician that is very good."

"I hired Campbell Electric Service to do a number of jobs around my townhouse. I think I got an OK deal. Two other email/phone bids came in at 50% to 80% higher. Also, I originally wanted two wall outlets fixed on top of everything else. When the guy came by for the estimate, the issues were so small (and embarrassingly simple), he fixed them free of charge. Finally, there was no mess. Nothing required removal of drywall. Still, they laid down cloth under the fan and picked up the crumbs where they had been working. Bottom line, I will go with these guys in the future for repairs/renovations of this nature."
